Post-Treatment Instructions — Peak Skin & Wellness Center
Protect Your Investment. Support Your Results.
The work doesn't stop when you leave our office. How you care for your skin in the hours and days following your treatment plays a significant role in how well you heal, how quickly you see results, and how long those results last. Please follow the instructions below for your specific treatment. When in doubt, call us — we're here.
General Post-Treatment Guidelines — All Services
Unless otherwise directed by your provider, the following guidelines apply to most treatments: avoid touching, rubbing, or picking at the treated area. Keep skin clean and apply only provider-recommended products until fully healed. Stay well hydrated to support skin recovery. Avoid direct sun exposure on the treated area and apply SPF 30 or higher daily once cleared by your provider. Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 24 to 48 hours post-treatment unless otherwise noted.
Cosmetic Injectables — Botox, Dysport, Fillers, Sculptra, and PRP
For the first 24 hours after your injectable appointment, avoid lying flat or bending forward for 4 hours after neurotoxin injections such as Botox or Dysport. Do not massage or apply pressure to the treated areas. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat for 24 hours. Skip facial treatments, facials, or laser sessions for at least 2 weeks unless coordinated with your provider.
Some mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising is normal and typically resolves within a few days. Arnica gel or supplements may help reduce bruising. Results from Botox and Dysport typically appear within 3 to 7 days, while filler and Sculptra results develop gradually over several weeks. Contact our office if you experience significant or asymmetric swelling, prolonged discomfort, or any unusual symptoms.
RF Microneedling — Scarlet SRF and Agnes RF
Skin may appear pink, red, or slightly swollen immediately following your treatment — this is a normal, expected response and generally resolves within 24 to 72 hours. Avoid touching the skin with unwashed hands. Apply only the post-care products recommended by your provider for the first several days. Do not use retinoids, active exfoliants, or vitamin C serums until your provider gives the clearance, typically after 5 to 7 days. Avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF 30 or higher daily. Skip makeup for at least 24 hours, or longer if advised. Avoid exercise, sweating, and heat exposure for 24 to 48 hours. For Agnes RF body contouring areas, some swelling and sensitivity is normal and may take several days to fully resolve.
Laser Resurfacing — NOUVADerm and PLADUOpro Plasma
Post-resurfacing care is important for safe healing and optimal results. Expect some redness, warmth, and mild swelling in the days following your treatment — this is your skin actively regenerating. Keep the treated area clean and moisturized with provider-recommended products only. Avoid any active skincare ingredients including retinoids, acids, and exfoliants until fully healed, which is typically 5 to 10 days depending on treatment intensity. Sun protection is non-negotiable — avoid direct sun exposure entirely during initial healing and apply SPF daily once cleared. Do not pick, peel, or exfoliate flaking skin. Allow it to shed naturally. Avoid makeup until the skin barrier has fully healed. Stay hydrated and consider pairing your recovery with an AquafirmeXS exosome facial to accelerate healing — ask our team about scheduling.
Laser Hair Removal and IPL Photofacial
Some redness and mild sensitivity in the treatment area is normal for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and heat (including hot showers and saunas) for 48 hours. Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer if the skin feels dry or sensitive. Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams between sessions — shaving is the only acceptable method of hair removal during your treatment series. Treated hairs will shed naturally over 1 to 3 weeks following each session. This is normal and does not mean the treatment is not working.
Hair Restoration — DERIVE, NOUVADerm, and AquafirmeXS
Avoid washing the scalp for 24 hours following your treatment. Skip styling products, dry shampoo, and heat tools for at least 48 hours. Gentle scalp massage may be recommended by your provider to support circulation — follow their specific guidance. Continue any recommended medical-grade shampoo or conditioner regimen as directed. Avoid aggressive brushing or tight hairstyles for 48 hours post-treatment.
IV Therapy
Drink plenty of water following your infusion to support continued hydration and optimal absorption of nutrients. Some mild tenderness at the IV site is normal. Avoid strenuous exercise for several hours after your session. If you experience any unusual symptoms such as prolonged swelling, redness, or discomfort at the infusion site, contact our office.
Medical Weight Loss — GLP-1 Follow-Up Care
Stay well hydrated and maintain your nutrition plan between appointments. Report any side effects — including nausea, fatigue, or appetite changes — to our team so your protocol can be adjusted as needed. Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments to ensure your progress is monitored and your plan continues to be optimized. Consider pairing your weight loss program with EM-Flex muscle stimulation and laser skin tightening to maintain muscle tone and skin firmness throughout your transformation.
Label
EM-Flex Muscle Stimulation
Some muscle soreness similar to an intense workout is normal in the 24 to 48 hours following your session. Stay hydrated and maintain light activity to support muscle recovery. Avoid intense exercise targeting the same muscle groups for 24 hours after treatment.
Aquafirme Facials and Exosome Treatments
Your skin may appear immediately brighter and more hydrated following treatment. Avoid retinoids and active exfoliants for 48 hours. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer and apply SPF daily. For best results, follow the treatment frequency recommended by your provider.
When to Call Us
While most post-treatment responses are normal and expected, please contact our office if you experience: significant or worsening swelling beyond 72 hours, signs of infection such as increased warmth, pus, or fever, unusual or asymmetric reactions, or any symptoms that concern you.
We would rather hear from you than have you wonder. Your safety and results are our priority.
